EnviroTechnologies International, Inc. Announces Successful First Sale and Installation in Orchard Spraying of Empowered Water™
The Company Preparing to Expand in US Apple and Cherry Growing Market
SALT LAKE CITY, Feb. 10, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- EnviroTechnologies International, Inc., a publicly listed company (OTC-PINK: ETII) that develops and markets green, natural and organic products for diverse industries, today announced the installation and first results of its Empowered Water™ equipment and solutions for pesticide spraying of apple and cherry trees owned by Double M Orchards, located in Quincey, Washington.
This is an important part of the overall agricultural opportunity for ETII as the combined annual market for apples and cherries is $4 billion in the US alone.
Last year, ETII completed the first commercial sale and installation of its proprietary blend of equipment and Empowered Water™ in the highly profitable apple and cherry industry, to Double M Orchards. Empowered Water™ is a unique and proprietary formula of anolyte solution manufactured in ETII's exclusive electrolysis water generator. This solution is produced with an effective level of Hypochlorous (HOCI), which has been approved as an effective organic disinfectant by the USDA. The HOCI rich solution is sprayed on the growing fruit on a periodic basis throughout the fruit's growth cycle. HOCI has been shown to be 99% effective in killing microbial bacteria and fungus, including mold and mildew populations. This effectively eliminates harmful agricultural bacteria such as E. coli (STEC), Listeria and Salmonella and crop damaging fungal infections, such as powdery mildew.
"We have many agriculture initiatives under way presently, but are very excited about our customer's success in direct orchard spraying of Empowered Water™," said Randall Waters, ETII's Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "We previously completed the first round of testing with a good cross sample of apple tree spraying during the 2015-growing season. The results were positive and Double M purchased an Empowered Water™ system for full orchard application in late 2016."
According to Mark Hambleton, General Manager of Double M Orchards, "We are pleased with our initial testing of ETII's technology and the net effect of installing the system has resulted in better fruit with a decrease in the cost and safety concerns of spraying traditional chemical pesticides. We also know that it is better for our trees and soil."
Empowered Water™ anolyte is a safe and green electrolyzed water solution made from adding a very controlled saline formula to a purified water stream and processing the solution with a controlled electrical current. These solutions have been used for the past 15 years in everything from cleaning home carpets to cleaning food and beverage facilities. Waters added, "We are working with additional potential installations for orchard spray, as well as extending the use of the systems in fruit and food processing applications."
