Federated Wireless Selects Aviat's Network Operations Center

MILPITAS, Calif., Jan. 17, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Aviat Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: AVNW), the leading expert in wireless transport solutions, today announced that Federated Wireless, the industry leader in spectrum management software, will use Aviat's Global Network Operations Center (NOC) services in support of the commercial launch of their shared spectrum enablement business using the new Citizens Broadband Radio Service (CBRS).

Federated Wireless is dedicated to offering highly reliable, highly available "five nines" service on their Spectrum Controller. This advanced technology is built on five years of development and is hardened and ready for delivering commercial services. In order to provide optimal support to their expansive customer base, Federated Wireless selected Aviat to provide nationwide operations support services.

Aviat will provide NOC monitoring and management of hundreds of environmental sensors spread across the three US coasts and help desk support for end users of the Federated Wireless Spectrum Controller. The sensors detect federal incumbent users and the Spectrum Access System dynamically allocates CBRS spectrum with minimal disruption.

Located in San Antonio, Texas, Aviat's NOC leverages an advanced suite of tools and industry best practices to keep networks operating effectively and efficiently. Services such as remote monitoring, corrective and preventative maintenance, performance management and network optimization are all provided 24x7 from this world-class service.

"We selected Aviat due to their reputation and expertise. We have common customer-centric values, a common focus on high availability, and a common approach of using highly flexible and secure Amazon Web Services (AWS)," says Becky Bobzien-Simms, VP Operations, Federated Wireless. "This set Aviat's solution apart from the competition while also providing a cost-effective solution to Federated Wireless to support our business expansion."

"We are very excited to be working with Federated Wireless on this project," says Michael Pangia, President and CEO, Aviat Networks. "This is a fantastic example of the possibilities for Aviat's services business which has the security, redundancy, and flexibility to support communications solutions of all kinds – not just wireless transport applications."
