Free-On-Demand Networks Ranked For The First Time For Advertisers & Agencies

PORTLAND, Ore., Aug. 7, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Rentrak Corporation (NASDAQ: RENT), the leader in multi-screen media measurement serving the advertising, television and entertainment industries, today announced the availability of the OnDemand Essentials Network Advertising Report which is the first-ever free-on-demand (FOD) network transparency report for the on-demand platform. The report ranks those networks that agreed to have their performance information made available by their current month's transactions.

Historically, a lack of on-demand network transparency has been cited by agencies as a buying hurdle for the platform. With nearly 80% of FOD program viewing occurring after the first three-days of availability on-demand, the report is designed to help networks better merchandise their FOD content in order to capitalize on the billion dollar advertising sales opportunity for the on-demand platform.

The initial rollout of The OnDemand Essentials Network Advertising Report monthly report will include retroactive data from January 2012 through June 2012 and will feature networks from the following cable network groups: A+E Networks, AMC Networks, Discovery Communications, National Geographic Channels, Scripps Networks Interactive, Turner Broadcasting and Viacom. In addition, several independent FOD networks will be featured including BBC America, FEARnet, Kabillion, MGM Impact and Music Choice.  Network clients of Rentrak may opt-in at any time to have their network performance data ranked.

Along with month-by-month transaction totals, the OnDemand Essentials Network Advertising Report contains additional data points including unique set-top-box figures, average transactions per set-top-box and average view time per transaction.
