AUSTIN, Texas, March 11, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- One of the Few gay parties at SXSW, "Friends with Benefits", is being organized by the LGBT Media site UnicornBooty.com and gay social app Hornet on Sunday, March 13 from 2 to 6pm at The Iron Bear (121 W 8th St, Austin, TX 78701), a local gay bar close to the main SXSW venues.

In addition to donated drinks and drink specials provided by Austin-based Frot Vodka, there will be musical performances by local DJ Divorcee and Glastonbury-based queer band The Spook School, a short presentation entitled, "Friends With Benefits: How Companies and Allies Are Transforming LGBTQ Rights" (with speakers including Michael Crawford, the former director of digital and creative at Freedom to Marry, and Rich Mintz, the executive Vice President of Blue State Digital) and a local food truck offering sumptuous bites.
The party is public to everybody (with a special invitation to allies/non-queer) and the presentation will start at 4:30pm with DJ Jorge Pena spinning before then and Spook School performing afterwards. Daniel Villarreal, editor of Unicorn Booty, and Sean Howell, CEO of Hornet, will also be in attendance as well as other big-name co-hosts and guests from SX interactive and the local queer scene.
