Fujitsu Certifies Jeda's FNC for networking their ETERNUS Storage Arrays

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., April 8, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Jeda Networks (www.jedanetworks.com) announced today that Fujitsu Ltd. has certified Jeda's virtual SAN controller, the Fabric Network Controller (FNC), with their Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) enabled ETERNUS DX series storage arrays.  Jeda Networks has applied Software Defined Networks technology to the SAN, resulting in next generation scalable and virtualized SANs.

The FNC supports Fiber Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) enabled devices, delivering on the initial promise of this standard protocol with a high performance, scalable and lower cost alternative to FC and iSCSI solutions. The FNC has been successfully integrated with a number of multi-vendor 10Gb and 40Gb Data Center Ethernet switches and Converged Ethernet Network Controllers.  Since the FNC is software, it is network and access speed agnostic, so as Ethernet fabrics migrate to 100Gbs and beyond, the FNC will continue to work within these next generation networks.

"Both Enterprise and Cloud IT Infrastructures can now integrate Fujitsu's industry leading storage arrays into high-performance, FCoE based, virtualized SANs without requiring high-priced and complex network switches," said Stuart Berman, Founder and CEO of Jeda Networks. "Jeda's FNC virtualized SAN controller enables a flexible, scalable and reliable storage infrastructure based on standard Ethernet 10/40Gb Data Center switches, delivering industry leading performance that compliments Fujitsu's ETERNUS DX family of storage solutions."

The Jeda FNC provides several key advantages:

• Enables a true one-wire, LAN/SAN Data Center based on standard Ethernet Switches
• Replaces the need for expensive proprietary SAN equipment, eliminating vendor lock-in and reducing capital expenditures
• Simplifies deployments while maximizing network availability and scalability
• Reduces management time and cost and combines SAN/LAN network administration in a single console that is completely standards based
• Provides a solution that is network speed agnostic (10GbE, 40GbE, 100GbE) outperforming 8Gb/16Gb Fibre Channel based SANs.

Jeda Networks SDSN technology is an innovative, virtualized and scalable solution that is transforming the way applications connect with network storage. It's the next generation in the evolution of SAN architectures. A Jeda Networks Software Defined Storage Network (SDSN) reduces costs and simplifies management to bring the benefits of high-performance network storage to Cloud, Enterprise and SMB environments.
