Garbage To Glam Upcycling™ named 2016 Toy of the Year Award Finalist

MILWAUKEE, Nov. 24, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Garbage To Glam Upcycling, a line of activity kits designed to help tweens turn everyday household refuse such as plastic bags, plastic bottles, discarded T-shirts and old games and toys into beautiful crafts from Fashion Angels, is a finalist for a 2016 Toy of the Year (TOTY) Award. The new product is in consideration for Activity Toy of the Year, which features indoor toys that inspire creative play.

With 92 percent of tweens reporting that they are somewhat or very concerned about the environment, according to a national survey of 1,200 Boys & Girls Club members, Garbage To Glam Upcycling from Fashion Angels is the perfect outlet for kids to have fun making one-of-a-kind crafts while actively helping to safeguard the environment.

Fashion Angels' Garbage To Glam Upcycling product line features four unique kits, each of which focuses on repurposing a different household refuse item into beautiful craft projects. The four kits include Plastic Bottles, Plastic Bags, Old T-Shirts and Toys & Games that are no longer played with. Each of the four kits comes with a project inspiration guide, instructions and the tools and materials to help complete the Upcycling projects.

Presented by the Toy Industry Association, the TOTY Awards are considered the Oscars of the toy industry. Award winners are chosen through a voting process that includes input from experts in the field in addition to an online fan vote.
