Garrett Van Wagoner starts new Venture Fund - Silicon Valley Associates Impact 1

SAN FRANCISCO, June 10, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Garrett Van Wagoner is announcing the beginning of marketing a new venture fund, Silicon Valley Associates Impact 1 Fund ("Fund).   The target raise for the new Fund will be US$250 million, with an investment mandate of Socially Responsible Investments (SRI) in market segments with breakaway dynamics and having a positive global social impact. "Our initial focus will be to invest in transformative Companies that provide a measured sustainable impact on society and the environment with direct focus on the green transportation and renewable power infrastructure markets," said Mr. Van Wagoner. 

Garrett Van Wagoner has an outstanding track record identifying and investing in emerging technologies, winning the Lipper Performance Achievement Award five times, managing the best performing small-cap growth fund in 1993 – 1995 as well as best performing mid-cap growth fund in 1999 and 2008.
