GDC Technics inks lease of 840,000 sf at Alliance Airport, Fort Worth, Texas

FORT WORTH, Texas, Feb. 20, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- GDC Technics, an aircraft modification enterprise based in San Antonio, Texas, with clients worldwide, has been approved as the newest tenant at the city-owned Alliance Airport following a vote earlier this week by the Fort Worth City Council, according to Mohammad Alzeer, GDC general partner.

With a 25-year lease for 840,000 sf, GDC anticipates investing in major capital improvements and upgrades to the hangar, maintenance buildings, wash bay and parking lot areas formerly leased and occupied by American Airlines. American opened its multi-million dollar, state-of-the-art airline maintenance facility in 1992. The facilities have been owned by the City of Fort Worth since Feb. 1, 2015.

"The Alliance facility enables us to accommodate our growing aircraft engineering, modification and systems development services in a world class facility," Mr. Alzeer said.

GDC anticipates moving to Alliance in March, 2015. The company plans to maintain its base in San Antonio where it has about 650 workers in its 340,000 sf Port San Antonio headquarters.

GDC also plans on adding over 600 employees in Fort Worth over the next several years, including 100 in 2015. Many of these will require high-level engineering expertise. GDC's human resources team will be on site and ready to receive employment applications immediately after posting job openings in March.
