PHILADELPHIA, Jan. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Get Real... Get Raw!!! proudly launched their "Green Smoothies" and "Banana Whips" as part of its breakfast program at Project H.O.M.E.'s Kairos House on Monday, January 18, 2010.
This marks the beginning of a fresh, wholesome and organic way of living for all the residents of Project H.O.M.E. Kairos House, a progressive-demand residence for men and women with a primary diagnosis of serious mental illness, was the first of four Project H.O.M.E. sites to graciously welcome Get Real... Get Raw!!! breakfast program.
"I am thrilled to partner with Project H.O.M.E. to offer my healthy green smoothies, fruits, vegetables & healthy living education to the residents of Project H.O.M.E.'s homeless shelter. Help comes in many forms, and good nutrition forms the basis for being a happy & productive person," said Lisa Maguire, Get Real... Get Raw!!! President & Founder.
Sister Mary Scullion, Co-Founder of Project H.O.M.E., adds, "Lisa and her charity bring energy and hope to our residents by teaching them not only the benefits of healthy eating, but how delicious it can be. Through her program, she's educating the residents about nutrition and providing nutritious foods such as smoothies and fresh fruit and vegetables -- thereby providing formerly homeless residents with critical tools to take charge of their own health and wellness."
Get Real... Get Raw!!! is a non-profit organization which strives to offer free educational media and personal demonstrations to teach people how to access and prepare healthy food; provide homeless shelters with affordable, fresh produce and fund on-site gardens and greenhouses for growth of organic produce; and incorporate the homeless shelter model into public and private schools to help promote a healthy lifestyle among students.
