Goodwill Industries of the Chesapeake to Host Reentry and Resource Fair at Morgan State
Goal is to connect Baltimore job seekers to valuable employment resources
BALTIMORE, Sept. 21, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Goodwill Industries of the Chesapeake will host the Second Chance Reentry and Resource Fair on Tuesday September 27th from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Morgan State University. Lawyers will be onsite to offer confidential sessions with attendees who may need expungement assistance.
Goodwill is hosting the resource fair in keeping with its mission helping local residents, especially those who have barriers to employment, find employment. The event will include reentry specialists, guest speakers, and availability to free resources. Employers will accept resumes onsite and provide information on current opportunities. Additional resources include financial planning, tax filing assistance, medical screenings, housing counseling, child support information, training programs and education opportunities. Additionally, individuals not currently registered to vote will be able to do so at the resource fair.
Reentry vendors scheduled to attend include: Maryland Legal Aid, Maryland Legal Volunteer Services, Office Public Defender, Bon Secours, Lutheran Mission Society, Housing Authority of Baltimore City, NW Career Center, Mayor's Office of Human Services, Mayor's Office of Employment Development/Northwest Career Center/The Reentry Center, Center for Urban Families, Baltimore City Community Action Partnership and the Baltimore Alliance.
Resource vendors scheduled to attend include: Baltimore Cash, Johns Hopkins Institute Outreach Center, Concerted Care Group, Earnings Work, M&T Bank, Wells Fargo Bank, The Maryland Home Team of Keller Williams Excellence, Legacy Exhibits, MD Department of Social Services, Charm City Clinic, Park West Hidden Garden and Housing Choice Voucher Program.
Employers and Training vendors scheduled to attend include: Chipotle, Marriott, Big Mac Barbecue Pitt, Living Classrooms, Maryland Food Bank, Jane-Addams Research Corporation, South Baltimore Learning Center, Moveable Feast, Rowdy Orbit Impact, Strong City of Baltimore Adult Learning, Maryland Relay and Baltimore City Community College.
