Greenfields Goes Blue with Colorado Springs, CO New Sports Field

UNION CITY, Ga., July 7, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Greenfields USA is proud to announce the installation of its first all navy blue field at the prestigious The Vanguard School in Colorado Springs, Co., ranked the 16^th Top Academic High School in America by Newsweek¹.

"The field is a wonderful addition to our school and has been getting constant rants and raves from players and fans," said Pat Agee, The Vanguard School's Facilities Manager. "With the color of the field and our location off Interstate 25 we have received a lot of attention for the school."

Students assisted in determining the color, voting for the color navy blue over green with a 3:1 vote. The field was part of a $1.6 million project for the school including the synthetic turf field, track, lights and more.

The install project was completed in April. "So far we have experienced a fairly wet summer but with the excellent drainage of the field we have not had to cancel any games," stated Agee.

The girls soccer team finished their season on the new field, initiating other local soccer clubs to begin using the field for their games including Rush Soccer Club and Colorado Springs Soccer Club (CSSC). The school was honored to host The Rocky Mountain Saber Cats semi-pro football team last week for their first home game of the season. There are plans for them to continue utilizing the field for their games and also host the Military appreciation game this summer.
