DALLAS, Aug. 16, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Greyhound and Peter Pan Bus Lines are urging customers to plan ahead and book early for schedules between New York and Washington, D.C., on August 27 – 28, especially those with the desire to attend the Aug. 28 dedication of the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial in Washington, D.C. The companies are providing reservation-only service on all schedules between New York and Washington, D.C. during this time. Once a specific schedule has sold out, it will no longer be available for booking. For fares, schedule information and to reserve tickets, customers can visit www.greyhound.com and www.peterpanbus.com.

"Reservation-only service will help us provide the best customer service possible, and ensure everyone has a seat for those planning to travel between New York and Washington, D.C. for the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial dedication ceremony."  

The Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial will be dedicated in West Potomac Park in Washington, D.C. on Sunday, Aug. 28, the 48th anniversary of Dr. King's historic "I Have a Dream" speech. The day will begin with a pre-dedication concert at 10 a.m., the dedication ceremony at 11 a.m. and a post-dedication concert at 2 p.m. Customers will be able to board Greyhound buses at the New York Port Authority in New York City and at the Greyhound terminal located at 1005 1st Street Northeast in Washington, D.C.
