Bar Certified in Alaska State and Federal courts, while pursuing her educational endeavors, Gwen attained her Juris Doctor degree at William Mitchell College of Law, in St. Minnesota. In her previous years, Gwen earned her Master of Arts degree in Culture and Spirituality from Holy Names College in Oakland, California in 1996. Gwen also obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Vocal Music from the College of St. Benedict, in 1976.

To further enhance her professional development, Gwen is the President of the Kenai Peninsula Bar Association and an esteemed member of the Alaska Bar Association, American Bar Association, Alaska and American Bar Association Family Law Sections, ABA Alternate Dispute Resolution Committee, and Alaska Criminal Defense Lawyers (AKCDL).

In recognition of her many professional accolades, Gwen was the honorary recipient of the 2014 Pro Bono Award from the Alaska Bar Association and the 2017 Distinguished Lawyer Award from Expert Network.
