HomeAdvisor Teams up with Adopt-a-Pet.com on Behalf of the Nation's Dogs

GOLDEN, Colo., May 28, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- HomeAdvisor, a leading local home services marketplace, and Adopt-a-Pet.com, North America's largest non-profit pet adoption website, announced today a program to raise money for Adopt-a-Pet.com. Through this program HomeAdvisor will donate up to $15,000 on behalf of dogs nationwide.

After receiving feedback from dog owners that the doorbell jingle in HomeAdvisor's TV commercial caused their dogs to bark excitedly, HomeAdvisor saw an opportunity to turn the attention into support for a very important cause. Through this partnership, HomeAdvisor will donate one dollar to Adopt-a-Pet.com on behalf of each dog submitted by pet owners and will double the donation if they upload a photo of their dog to Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter using #inthedoghouse.

"While we never intended for our TV commercial to upset dogs or their owners, we're proud to have this opportunity to work with Adopt-a-Pet.com and help raise money for the more than 15,000 animal shelters they support, including some here in Denver," said HomeAdvisor's Chief Marketing Officer, Allison Lowrie. Pet owners can contribute to Adopt-a-Pet.com through the HomeAdvisor donation page, as well as view adoptable pets in their area. HomeAdvisor is making donations until the $15,000 goal is met.
