Hearst Connecticut Media partnered with employee-survey specialist WorkplaceDynamics to survey over 10,000 employees throughout Fairfield, Litchfield and New Haven counties. Forty-five employers, including both nonprofits and for-profit companies, made the Top Workplaces list this year, more than previous years.

The companies that made the Top Workplaces list were solely selected by the survey results about the workplace completed by their employees. WorkplaceDynamics keeps their criteria confidential to prevent companies from attempting to manipulate rankings.
