Icon Media Direct Earns LA Green Biz Certification
Leading Brand Response Agency Recognized for Employee-Led Environmental Sustainability Efforts
SHERMAN OAKS, Calif., June 22, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Icon Media Direct, a leading brand response media agency, has earned the LA Green Biz Certification and Green Business Seal from the city of Los Angeles Green Business Program (LAGBP) which recognizes businesses for their achievements in sustainable, environmentally conscious business practices. Icon is the first brand response company and largest media agency in Los Angeles to receive this recognition.

Icon Media Direct earned the LA Green Biz Certification based on the efforts of their in-house sustainability team known as SPARK (Sustainability Powered by Accountability, Responsibility and Knowledge). This business sustainability task force was formed by employees to support the longevity and overall health of Icon Media Direct and its community. SPARK's environmental initiatives include an employee carpool program to reduce traffic and emissions, promoting mass transit and alternative transportation methods; a company-wide recycling program reducing waste in landfills as well as implementing usage of recycled copy paper; and energy-efficiency efforts such as the installation of light sensors and energy-efficient lightbulbs.
In addition to its environmental sustainability efforts, Icon Media Direct employees give back to the community by donating hundreds of volunteer hours to help fight hunger and provide assistance to families-in-need and the homeless in their communities.
