Intellectual Property Pioneer Peter Detkin Joins Sherpa Technology Group, formerly 3LP Advisors

SAN MATEO, Calif., Jan. 9, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Leading advisory firm Sherpa Technology Group today announced the appointment of Peter Detkin, a pioneer in the field of technology and intellectual property ("IP") strategy, to the role of Senior Advisor. This announcement coincides with Sherpa Technology Group's rebrand from 3LP Advisors, reflecting its role in advising clients at the intersection of business, technology and IP.  The name change will become effective immediately.

Mr. Detkin is a founder of Intellectual Ventures, a multi-billion dollar fund that invests in invention and currently holds over 40,000 patents. He will remain involved with the company. Prior to founding Intellectual Ventures, Mr. Detkin was a Vice President at Intel Corporation, where he oversaw Intel's patent, licensing and litigation departments. Before that, he was a partner at the law firm Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati. Mr. Detkin was recently named the second most influential "IP market maker" in the world by Intellectual Asset Management magazine. Mr. Detkin's knowledge and deal experience will bolster the firm's ability to offer business strategy and transaction execution services to its varied roster of clients, which includes Fortune 500 companies, emerging technology companies, investors, and investment banks.
