STAMFORD, Conn., Sept. 4, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Information Services Group (ISG) (Nasdaq: III), a leading global technology research and advisory firm, will discuss the importance of future-ready networks to ongoing business success in the digital age during an upcoming CFO magazine webcast, the firm announced today.
Dieter Thompson, partner and president of ISG Global Network Services, will serve as an expert panelist on the September 7 webcast, "How Finance Leaders Transform Their Businesses by Rethinking IT Infrastructure." The hour-long discussion, beginning at 2 p.m., U.S. Eastern Time, will look at why CFOs need to invest in modern data networking technology to support the growing connectivity and applications needs that fuel digital business.
"Too many finance leaders are not investing enough in their IT infrastructures, even though they may recognize the importance of adopting new technologies to improve customer service, operating efficiency and overall business results," said Thompson. "Networks are the backbone of digital transformation and agile business models. More than ever, enterprise success depends on secure, interoperable and interconnected networks capable of supporting cloud services, decentralized applications, mobility and connected devices."
Among other strategies, Thompson will reveal how networks themselves can be a source of funding for digital transformation initiatives. "Most companies are not aware that the leading pricing edge of network services has continued to decline over the past 18 months," said Thompson. "During that time, our network sourcing engagements have delivered savings to our clients in the range of 17 percent to 35 percent. That can free up millions of dollars to apply to digital transformation initiatives, much of which is available within three to six months."
Thompson serves as ISG's lead network advisor on contract negotiations and has been a major force in the telecommunications industry since 1988. In his many leadership roles, he has helped shape the industry with better ways to benchmark and negotiate costs for multinational companies.
Attendees can register for the free webcast online, and are eligible to earn free Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits for participating.
This is the second of two CFO webcasts this week featuring ISG thought leaders. The first, "A Finance Leader's Guide to Blockchain," on September 5, will feature the expert commentary of Alex-Paul Manders, the head of ISG's blockchain practice.
ISG will hold its first-ever ISG Future Networks Summit September 24-25 in Chicago. The event, at Swissôtel Chicago, will explore next-generation network options to support digital transformation.
