FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., June 21, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Jordan Zimmerman, the iconic founder and chairman of Zimmerman Advertising, created an advertising empire from a $10,000 investment and has turned his clients' brands into some of the most recognized in the world. Now he's giving his counsel to an aspiring young marketer who is working to achieve his own dreams.
John Hricik of Philadelphia, Penn. has been named the winner of Jordan's recent social media video challenge, "Meet Jordan Zimmerman." A celebration of the publication of Jordan's new book "Leading Fearlessly," the contest required entrants to post to Vine or Instagram a micro-video explaining why he or she should be chosen to win the opportunity to "Meet Jordan Zimmerman." Hricik's submission was unique in that it was only a short tease, directing Jordan to a 4-minute-long video in which Hricik makes his case.
"This young man's video absolutely blew me away. The moment it was over, I said to myself, 'That's the winner. That's the guy,'" says Zimmerman. The video is available for viewing here.
On Monday, June 23, 2014 Hricik will be flown to Fort Lauderdale, Fla. for a 3-day, 2-night stay. The following day, Jordan will host Hricik at a private lunch and then Hricik will tour Zimmerman Advertising's new, state of the art corporate headquarters located at 6600 N. Andrews Ave. in Fort Lauderdale.
"Out of all the entries we received, John's was the most creative—and the most sincere," Zimmerman says. "I know he's going to come in prepared to fire questions at me and that he'll take the information and run with it. I'm very glad he entered the contest. John's going places."
Beyond his successful business endeavors, Jordan devotes an enormous amount of time and resources to giving back. He founded and continues to support the Zimmerman Advertising School at his alma mater, the University of South Florida. The unique program has a concentrated advertising-specific and relevant curriculum that includes leading edge traditional, social and digital. Zimmerman students are more prepared for the real advertising world of today and tomorrow, which puts them in greater demand. Jordan's many philanthropic activities include supporting the American Cancer Society, Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital, Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County, Cleveland Clinic Florida, Florence Fuller Child Development Centers, Florida Council of 100, Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance, Make-A-Wish Foundation and many more.
