Leaders of Medicine, Entertainment, ABC TV Hit Dancing with the Stars Lead the Way in Prostate Cancer Awareness

AdMeTech Foundation's Dance for the Cure of Prostate Cancer is Launched as a National Movement

LAS VEGAS, Oct. 29 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Today, AdMeTech Foundation in cooperation with Nick Kosovich of Dancing with the Stars, Arthur Murray International (AMI), Philips Healthcare, Mary Murphy of Fox TV Hit So You Think You Can Dance and other key leaders of the dancing community have launched Dance for the Cure of Prostate Cancer as a national awareness and fundraising campaign to end the prostate cancer crisis. This morning, Dr. Faina Shtern , President of AdMeTech Foundation, John Kimmins , President of AMI and Mr. Kosovich made this announcement at the AMI's worldwide dancing competition, Superama, which is taking place until October 31 at the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas. Other key leaders of the dancing community offered unprecedented support. ABC's Dancing with the Stars donated VIP tickets for this season's Grand Finale for a fundraising drive, and ballroom dance competitions on both the East and the West Coast are featuring Dance for the Cure. Hollywood Dancesport Championships in Los Angeles, California and Commonwealth Classic in Burlington, Massachusetts are leading the way on November 4 through November 6.

Dance for the Cure has emerged as a national movement akin to Race for the Cure of Breast Cancer, which continues to be instrumental in transforming women's health. While the prostate cancer epidemic strikes as many as 1 in 6 American men and is even more common than breast cancer (1 in 8 women), men do not have accurate tools for early detection similar to mammograms which are critical for cure and saving lives. AdMeTech Foundation and its partners launched Dance for the Cure in support of the AdMeTech's mission to create a Manogram, a life-saving imaging for men.

Participating in the National Launch of Dance for the Cure of Prostate Cancer are:

ABC TV Hit Dancing with the Stars' (DWTS) choreographer and former cast member Nick Kos ovich who coached Donny Osmond to victory in Season 9; and a cast member Corky Ballas who appeared in the current season with Ms. Florence Henderson of the Brady Bunch fame. Len Goo dman, a Judge for DWTS, made a public announcement last year that he was diagnosed with prostate cancer. Hollywood Dancesport Championships' organizers Mary Murphy , who is also a judge and choreographer on the Fox's So You Think You Can Dance, and Michael Chapman , a world champion of the exhibition ballroom dancing.
