Lighthouse Solar Installs 855kW Solar Array for Nice-Pak Products

NEW PALTZ, N.Y., Oct. 9, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Over the past few weeks, Lighthouse Solar has been installing an 855kW ballasted roof-mounted system on the headquarters of Nice-Pak Products, Inc./Professional Disposables International, Inc. in Orangeburg, NY. The companies produce leading edge wet wipe products for personal hygiene, cleansing, disinfecting and sanitizing needs in the consumer, healthcare and commercial marketplaces. The companies' focus on health and wellness is a natural fit with clean sources of energy.

(3,419) 250W Polycrystalline panels will be strung together in this project, covering over 160,000sqft of normally underutilized roof space. The system is expected to generate around 1-million kilowatt-hours of energy per year – enough to meet 15% of the building's electrical operating costs. That's also enough energy to provide electricity for 97 homes or the equivalent to preventing the carbon-dioxide emissions from burning of 660,000lbs of coal.
