Luminosity, Powered by Pepsi, debuts at Cedar Point

Show's grand opening is Friday

SANDUSKY, Ohio, June 5, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Cedar Point is lighting up the nights and bringing people closer with its new live show!

Luminosity, Powered by Pepsi, has drawn captive audiences since it launched its preview shows June 1. The energy will continue to build all week in Cedar Point's new Celebration Plaza, leading up to the show's grand opening this Friday, June 8.

With more than two dozen performers who sing, dance and flip in front of an ever-changing backdrop, Luminosity ignites all your senses.

Feel the heat from the flames that frame the stage and the splash of the water drums. See the dazzling display of LEDs and lasers illuminating the crowd and extending across the entire midway. Hear the pulsating beats of your favorite artists in a flashback that spans several generations. Where else could Katy Perry , Adele, Pitbull, Michael Jackson and Styx all come together on one stage?

Teens and young adults will latch onto what's trending on iTunes, but their parents will also hear plenty of lyrics they recognize. After a day of bonding more than 300 feet above sea level, families can find their footing again as they sing and dance together.

Luminosity takes guests on a musical journey that canvasses land, water and space. The dancers step right out into the crowd, drumming up excitement. The adventure culminates in an explosion of fireworks and pyrotechnics, making it the perfect way to celebrate your day at Cedar Point.

After the show, a futuristic DJ will take the party to the next level as he pumps out tunes for everyone to enjoy. Guests will also get the unique opportunity to interact with the cast. They can share their experiences with everyone as memories from their day scroll across a screen.
