WEBSTER, Mass., May 11, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- When the Volvo Ocean Race reaches Newport, RI, for the seventh of nine legs in its around-the-world race, MAPFRE Insurance, the leading provider of auto and property insurance in its home state of Massachusetts, will be represented. MAPFRE is the naming sponsor of a team.

Team MAPFRE is one of the seven boats competing in the 38,739 nautical mile yacht race. MAPFRE Insurance is based in Webster, MA, and is part of the Madrid-based global insurance company MAPFRE S.A. MAPFRE Insurance provides property and casualty insurance in 19 states, including all of New England.

Like the previous host ports, Newport will stage a two-week festival, which will include free family entertainment and a first-hand view of the incredible race. In the last edition of the race, more than 2.9 million people watched the races at the 10 host ports around the world.
