Dr. Kim will examine the growing trend towards using nanoparticles to carry molecules or drugs from a medical device, and how coupling nanometers with advanced medical equipment can create multifunctional biomedical technology. Dr. Kim's work on nanomotors was nominated as a finalist for the SXSW Interactive Innovation Award and ranked third on BBC Focus Magazine's 2014 list of ten discoveries that will shape the future.
