Mindray Medical Provides Mid-Year Update on Product Development

SHENZHEN, China, July 15, 2011 /PRNewswire-Asia-FirstCall/ -- Mindray Medical International Limited (NYSE: MR), a leading developer, manufacturer and marketer of medical devices worldwide, today announced updates on new product launches for the first half of 2011.

In the first half of the year, the company successfully released a total of four products across its three product lines. These include: a new anesthesia machine, a new defibrillator, an advanced auto hematology analyzer, and a black and white portable ultrasound system. Full product descriptions are provided below.

Products

Patient Monitoring and Life Support

• A5 Anesthesia System - the first of our new series of anesthesia machines that bring advanced design features to the Mindray portfolio. The A5's intuitive user interface and ergonomic design simplify workflows. Its HL7 architecture provides the standard interface for anesthesia record keepers and electronic medical record keepers. The A5 also provides a range of advanced ventilation modes enabling effective care across different patient acuity types.

• BeneHeart D3 Defibrillator/Monitor - a compact, durable and lightweight defibrillator that integrates monitoring, manual defibrillation, pacing and AED functions. Quick charging and shock delivery at customized energy levels ensures effective resuscitation. Its smart vital signs monitoring function of ECG, SPO2 and respiration can improve diagnosis efficiency and quickly indicates the effective defibrillation.

In-Vitro Diagnostic Products

• BC-6800 Auto Hematology Analyzer - a high level automatic hematology analyzer with high processing speed. In addition to the routine CBC plus 5-Part Differential WBC test, the BC-6800's output can also perform Reticulocyte, NRBC, Optical Platelet count, etc., allowing wider clinical application and research. Several reagents exclusive to this product were also introduced during the first half of 2011.

Medical Imaging System

• DP-50 Digital Portable Ultrasound System - an ultrasound system with a smart new shape, enhanced mobility, and more convenient operation that is well-suited for clinical settings. The DP-50 incorporates advanced technologies that deliver deeper penetration and higher resolution.
