New Interior Design Book Simplifies Complex Custom Curtain Rod Treatments With Stunning Visuals and Concise Guidance

ALCOA, Tenn., Oct. 3, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Author, trainer and President of Designer Drapery Hardware, LLC - Nathan Cole seeks to demystify one of the most difficult products in the interior decorating industry with his new book "Heavy-Duty And Decorative Traverse Curtain Rods." When published on DesignerDraperyHardware.com, reviews and ratings for the e-book version were very positive, and a print version has followed. The book is currently available at Designer Drapery Hardware's website: www.DesignerDraperyHardware.com

"Heavy-Duty And Decorative Traverse Curtain Rods" walks anyone from the most experienced interior designer or architect to the casual homeowner through the process of selecting and installing a custom drapery hardware treatment. With particular emphasis placed on helping the reader understand the relationship between the fabric portion of the treatment and the hardware necessary to support it, the author breaks down the selection process in easy to follow steps, citing examples and tackling common questions along the way.

"It's the same approach we take when training designers or working with homeowners," says Cole. "Everyone is intimidated by custom rods initially because of their complexity. But, when you approach them step-by-step, it's pretty straightforward."

"Nathan does a really good job of explaining a difficult product in easy to follow language. And, the detailed illustrations are absolutely incredible," says Paige Lankford, Vice-President of HT Barnes, a Kirsch Curtain Rod Fabricator and Distributor in Foley, Alabama. Each style of drapery rod featured was painstakingly computer modeled (CGI) to produce vivid, photo-realistic drawings. "There simply wasn't existing imagery of this type of product from any manufacturer; at least not at this level of detail. So, we created it from scratch for this book," says Cole. The extensive use of CGI throughout is an industry first and allows the reader to instantly visualize the related concepts.

The first section contains a general curtain rod primer and covers basic tasks like determining width, mounting location, cord drop and return size. Drapery style, weight and functionality must all be considered when selecting a rod profile. "Heavy-Duty And Decorative Traverse Curtain Rods" covers how each window treatment style will affect the type of carriers required. Pinch-Pleat draperies typically use overlapping masters with independent wheeled or ball-bearing carriers. And, Ripplefold style curtains usually require butting masters with attached carriers. The final sections cover general installation for both wall and ceiling mount applications. Step-by-step hanging instructions with supplemental illustrations cover about ninety-five percent of all installation situations.

The supplemental material provided in the appendix includes fabric stacking charts, stringing guides as well as common maintenance issues like adding or removing carriers. Detailed illustrations covering Ripplefold Drapery Fullness is also included.
