Novarus Mobile Technologies Hires Healthcare Executive Tom Hearn, Changes Name to Novarus Healthcare

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Jan. 9, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- To better reflect its focus on the healthcare industry, Novarus Mobile Technologies has hired long-time healthcare executive Tom Hearn as managing principal and changed its name to Novarus Healthcare.

Novarus Healthcare develops and markets apps that solve common business problems for hospitals and health systems, physician practices, and other providers. It also creates custom apps for healthcare clients. Current hospital clients include Novant Health, Oklahoma Heart Hospital, and Greenville Hospital System. Physician practice clients include Signature Healthcare.

The company was founded by David Moore in 2002 to develop and market mobile handheld solutions to a wide range of industries. Tom Hearn is a 25-year veteran of the healthcare industry. Previously, Hearn served as senior vice president of ambulatory services for Novant Health, a $3-billion health system in North Carolina. Before that, Hearn spent 12 years on the executive team of MedCath, Inc., including serving as chief executive officer of subsidiary MedCath Partners, LLC, and as chief development officer of MedCath, Inc. During his tenure, MedCath grew from $30 million to $1 billion in revenue.

Novarus Healthcare will continue to be headquartered in Charlotte, N.C., and will market and distribute its products nationally and internationally. The company will also actively network with entrepreneurs and early-stage businesses to develop products for unique uses in solving healthcare challenges.
