Oxitec CEO Hadyn Parry will testify on Wednesday, May 25th at 10:15 a.m. ET before the United States House Committee on Science, Space and Technology about the role genetically engineered mosquitos can play in controlling the spread of the Aedes aegypti mosquito, a known carrier of the Zika virus.

Trials in Brazil, Panama and the Cayman Islands have demonstrated that Oxitec's technology produces an unparalleled reduction in the population of the dangerous Aedes aegypti mosquito. The Food & Drug Administration recently concluded a public comment period after issuing a preliminary finding of no significant impact in support of a field study of Oxitec's solution in Key Haven, Fla.
