PwC sponsors Dallas Maverick's "Trees for Threes" Program For Third Consecutive Year

DALLAS, Dec. 18, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- PwC US today announced that its Dallas office is partnering with the Dallas Mavericks for the third consecutive year for the "Trees for Threes" program. Part of the Dallas Mavericks overall Guard the Planet initiative, "Trees for Threes" will plant a tree for every three-pointer the team makes at home during the regular season as well as the postseason.

This community initiative brings together members of the Mavericks, PwC employees and Arborilogical Services, Inc. to plant one tree for every three-pointer made at American Airlines Center. Trees will be planted in various parks and schools throughout the city of Dallas next spring.

In March and April 2012, the program planted 27 trees at Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts and 267 trees at Francisco "Pancho" Medrano Middle School and Skyline High School. Mavericks players Vince Carter and Brandan Wright , along with hundreds of volunteers from PwC and Arborilogical Services participated in the planting.

In order to care for and maintain the trees after planting year after year, The Mavericks, along with PwC, have aligned with tree care experts from Arborilogical Services, the Dallas Parks and Recreation Department, and the Dallas Independent School District.

Mavericks fans from around the country can log onto the Mavericks website to see an up-to-date "Tree Ticker" of all the trees to be planted.
