NEW YORK, Feb. 2, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- DreamDry and Spruce & Bond announce today that they have merged to form Hudson BLVD Group (HBG), the first multi-brand company in the luxury beauty services sector. Bringing together the CEO's of DreamDry and Spruce & Bond as co-founders, Hudson BLVD Group will serve to acquire, operate and develop a portfolio of likeminded specialty beauty service brands.
Former CEO of Spruce & Bond, Justin Joffe will act as Chief Executive Officer and former CEO of DreamDry, Robin Moraetes will be Chief Brand Officer. Renowned designer, stylist and editor Rachel Zoe will act as Creative Director of the group. Zoe formerly served as Co-founder and Creative Director of DreamDry where she lent her unparalleled expertise in fashion, style and beauty to the luxury salons; she will now expand her role as Creative Director of the group's growing roster of brands.
The group completed its first acquisition with the purchase of New York's go-to makeup destination, PUCKER. Hudson BLVD Group currently operates Spruce & Bond's six New York studios, DreamDry's five salons with two in New York, two in Chicago and a soon to open location in Atlanta, and Pucker's flagship studio in New York's SoHo district.
With a dynamic and growing portfolio, Hudson BLVD Group is pioneering a new way to deliver the best in class beauty services and products that consumers are looking for. The group will add significant value to customers by rolling out exclusive perks, which can be accessed across the HBG family, such as the introduction of a new rewards program that will launch later this year. Under HBG ownership, likeminded brands are able to leverage the group's credibility and tap into new clientele, markets and vendors all while garnering access to the back office and corporate support of the group's extensive ecosystem.
"When launching DreamDry, our goal was to create a luxury salon experience by offering clients truly unprecedented and tailored beauty services at accessible price points," says Zoe. "I'm beyond excited to team up with Hudson BLVD Group as its Creative Director and continue to help guide the creative vision of DreamDry as well as Spruce and Bond, Pucker and the growing number of brands joining the HBG family."
"This is a very exciting time for us and the entire beauty industry," adds Moraetes, Co-Founder and Chief Brand Officer of the Group. "Hudson BLVD Group is thrilled to lead the way by assembling an innovative collection of brands for an ever-growing group of discerning beauty clients. Our team will curate the absolute best in modern beauty services, delivering the luxury experiences, treatments and products we love in an accessible and convenient way."
HBG's most recent capital round from Kuzari Group LLC and prominent consumer retail investors brings the company's capital funding to over $10mm to date, with revenues approaching $20mm. "HBG has established the infrastructure, team, and operating principles to effectively scale boutique brands in the services and personal care category," says Joffe, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Hudson BLVD Group. "The Group will create consistency across all brands to satisfy each consumer's beauty needs, and our corporate organization will provide support to our growing portfolio as they scale."
"We view the premium retail services marketplace, particularly in the beauty and personal care space, to be one of the more powerful retail environments in which to engage with the consumer at this time," stated Elan Ben-Avi, Partner at Kuzari and HBG's Chairman. "The personalized nature of these services allow for thoughtful brands to build authentic relationships with clients, especially given the typical 30-60 minute commitment the consumer is making on a recurring basis. Brands that successfully scale at the high end of the service market do so with strong cultural systems, proprietary business practices, and even still, it comes down to extraordinary execution on the part of management. We are confident that the executive team at Hudson Blvd. Group is prepared to deliver on our shared vision, both for the initial brands in our portfolio, and as we continue to add to the platform, compelling brands with shared values which will continue to excite our consumer."
