Redbox Announces New Addition to Leadership Team

OAKBROOK TERRACE, Ill., Sept. 2, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Redbox®, America's destination for new-release entertainment, today announced Matt James as its senior vice president of operations and merchandising. Based out of Redbox's Chicago-area headquarters, James is responsible for driving the strategy that will continue to evolve Redbox's massive operational network, which generated an average of two million rentals per day in 2014, or about 723 million rentals.

With more than 40,000 Redbox kiosks at nearly 34,000 retail locations nationwide as of June 30, 2015, James will lead a team of over 1,400 employees across Redbox's Field Operations, Machine Support, Inventory, Logistics and Strategy & Analytics teams. James' team oversees inventory stocking and optimization, title merchandising, kiosk repair and preventative maintenance across the network.

Before moving into his current position, James was vice president of Inventory and Logistics for Redbox. Prior, James was senior director of Strategy & Analytics for Redbox, a position he held from his start with the company in 2011.

Prior to joining Redbox, James worked with both Bain and Company and Marakon Associates. James serves as the chair of the auxiliary board of the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship in Chicago. He received a bachelor's degree in Economics from Northwestern University and an MBA from Northwestern's Kellogg School of Management.
