Reliant Renal Care Offers Patients of Golden LivingCenter - Dunwoody with Staff Assisted Home Hemodialysis

MEDIA, Pa., April 15, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Reliant Home Choice and Golden LivingCenter - Dunwoody, a leading provider of rehabilitation and post-acute care services, have collaborated to offer on-site dialysis services to its Golden LivingCenter residents.

Currently, residents within skilled nursing centers who have End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) are transported to a local dialysis center thrice weekly for roughly five-to six-hours of treatment at a time. This can create a hardship for these residents as they may miss therapy sessions, meals and family visits. By working with RRC, the Golden LivingCenter - Dunwoody patients and residents will have the choice to receive their dialysis treatment in the LivingCenter as a home dialysis patient using portable machines from NxStage.  

RRC services provide all the equipment, supplies, medications and an experienced staff to provide the dialysis treatment.  "At RRC, we focus on the unique needs of the residents who need dialysis," said Barbara Bednar, President and CEO, Reliant Renal Care. "By providing staff assisted home dialysis to residents with ESRD in their home-setting the residents will experience a higher quality of life by making dialysis a part of their life and not their life." Patients are dialyzed five times per week, but for two- hours per treatment.
