MANASSAS, Va., Jan. 25 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The following is a statement by Richard A. Viguerie, Chairman of ConservativeHQ.com, regarding news reports that President Obama's State of the Union Address will announce support for a freeze on some federal spending:

"President Obama's expected announcement that he would support a freeze on non-security spending is another Obama obfuscation.

"Mr. President, if you are serious about controlling spending and reducing the dangerous deficit, you can demonstrate your bona fides with a stroke of your pen--no help needed from Congress:

1. Don't spend the more than $400 Billion unspent money from the Stimulus Bill.
2. Return to the U.S. Treasury, i.e. the taxpayers, the $210 Billion in TARP big bank bailout money that has either gone unspent or has been repaid.
3. Promise to veto all legislation containing earmarks.
