Samepoint analyzed fans and followers across Facebook and Twitter to derive its rankings.

The study covers the 100 largest US cities, however, the majority are not from the top 10 largest cities.  In fact, the 2nd most social mayor, Cory Booker, is from Newark, ranked 68th. The only Mayor from a top 5 city was Michael Bloomberg of NYC, ranked 4th.
