Scientology Volunteer Ministers Welcomed in Costa Rica With Dancing, Fanfare

SAN JOSÉ, Costa Rica, March 3, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- On a typically glorious Costa Rican afternoon in February, hundreds of guests assembled to welcome the Scientology Volunteer Ministers Latin American Goodwill Tour to San Jose. The celebration signaled the opening of the Volunteer Ministers bright yellow pavilion in the nation's capital. Here, volunteers provided one-on-one help and Scientology courses and workshops to more than 5,000 people over the next few weeks.

As soon as the local deputy director of police cut the ribbon, the pavilion was thronged with visitors, eager to benefit from the program.

Helping the Tour conduct  workshops and courses was a team of 20 local Volunteer Ministers who will continue providing help once the Tour moves on to their next destination.

Since the launch of the Scientology Volunteer Ministers Goodwill Tours in 2004, teams of trained volunteers have been traveling the world, providing unconditional help in cities, towns and villages around the world. From the shores of the Amazon to the Australian Outback, from the South Pacific to Central Africa, these teams of volunteers provide technology that helps people overcome their difficulties and realize their true potential.

In each place they visit, Goodwill Tours train new Volunteer Ministers and establish groups that serve their communities throughout the year and are often among the first to respond in times of disaster.
