Steelray Software Announces Full Support for Microsoft Project 2010
ATLANTA, June 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Steelray Software, LLC, a pioneer in project management software tools, today announced full support for Microsoft Project 2010 in Steelray Project Viewer and Steelray Project Analyzer, allowing teams and organizations of all sizes with desktops and laptops to now view and access Project 2010 schedules at lower cost, with increased productivity, and better compliance. Users may download a free 30-day fully functional trial version of both products from Steelray's 2010 global launch website at www.steelray.com.
Microsoft Project 2010's file format is not backward compatible with previous versions of Microsoft Project and existing third-party viewer programs. As a Microsoft Project Partner, Steelray spent months testing the beta versions of Microsoft Project 2010 in order to deliver Steelray Project Viewer, the only project viewer to currently fully support Microsoft Project Standard 2010 and Microsoft Project Professional 2010, and Steelray Project Analyzer, the only project schedule analysis tool with special checks to highlight practices such as manual scheduling that could muddy the critical path and adversely affect projects.
A single license of Steelray Project Viewer (available in English, French and German) costs $35, while Steelray Project Analyzer costs $799. Microsoft Project 2010 Standard retails at $600 and Microsoft Project 2010 Professional at $1000. Current Steelray maintenance customers can download the new versions for free or extend their maintenance period for a year at 18% of their current license fee.
"From inception, Steelray focused on improving the efficiency and quality of the best project management and collaboration applications," said Brian Leach, PMP, founder and managing director, Steelray Software. "It was critical that we test, develop, and release complementary software for Microsoft Project 2010 right away," he added.
