ST. LOUIS, Jan. 24, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- During the week leading up to Super Bowl XLVII, the entire city of New Orleans will be jumping with parties, celebrations and star-studded events, but one location will stand above the rest: the Bud Light Hotel.
Bud Light, the official beer sponsor of the NFL, will transform a 200-room downtown New Orleans hotel (701 Convention Center Blvd.) into the home of the hottest events during Super Bowl week. The capstone of the four-day event will take place Saturday night with a music first when the legendary Stevie Wonder will headline a lineup featuring Gary Clark Jr. The performance comes one night before Wonder's iconic song, "Superstition," appears in two sixty-second Bud Light ads during Super Bowl XLVII after appearing in multiple Bud Light commercials throughout the 2012 NFL season. On Sunday, Bud Light will host an afternoon concert featuring two of the hottest acts in country music, Eli Young Band and Lee Brice, ahead of the game.
The events lineup for the week includes:
- Thursday, Jan. 31 – EA SPORTS™ Madden Bowl XIX Party featuring Lil Wayne (doors open at 7 p.m.)
- Friday, Feb. 1 –Rolling Stone LIVE featuring Pitbull and Flo Rida (doors open at 9:15 p.m.)
- Saturday, Feb. 2 – Stevie Wonder concert featuring Gary Clark Jr. (doors open at 8 p.m.)
- Sunday, Feb. 3 – Concert featuring the Eli Young Band and Lee Brice (doors open at 1 p.m.)
All events are invite only. Tickets for the Saturday and Sunday concerts are available throughout the New Orleans metropolitan area. For those not heading to the Big Easy for the Super Bowl, Myspace – the Bud Light Hotel live broadcast partner – will be streaming select performances from the Friday and Saturday night concerts at www.Myspace.com/BudLight. "Music, sports and beer naturally go together, and this year's Bud Light Hotel lineup, more than any other, blend the three seamlessly into one amazing event," said Mike Sundet, vice president, Bud Light. "Our amazing partners and a first-of-its-kind performance with Stevie Wonder will make this a 'can't miss' destination for Super Bowl week partygoers."
