"Stryker is helping drive innovation in the industry with SonicAnchor™ and its unique fixation technology," said Adam Schiff, MD, an orthopaedic surgeon at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Ill., who has performed several procedures using the product. "Every time I place one, I am truly impressed by the strength and performance of this small implant."
SonicAnchor™ has a small footprint of 2.5 mm in diameter and supports a number of foot and ankle open procedures, including Achilles tendon repair, lateral and medial stabilization, hallux valgus reconstruction, midfoot reconstruction, metatarsal ligament repair and digital tendon transfer. Mechanical testing has demonstrated a significant enhancement in dynamic load stability over a predicate device without the presence of cortical bone.1
"SonicAnchor™ is transforming the soft tissue experience, and we are excited Stryker is leading the way in providing this innovative solution to orthopaedic surgeons. Its SonicFusion technology is unlike any other on the market," said Tom Popeck, vice president and general manager of Stryker's Foot and Ankle business unit.
Later this month at the AOFAS annual meeting, Stryker will feature how SonicAnchor™ is transforming the soft tissue industry and other ways Stryker is enhancing the patient experience through its diverse portfolio. Other products and services that will be highlighted include:
- Anchorage 2 CP
Offering four new plate types, this new system combines the patented SmartLock+ technology with CP compression for a variety of surgical procedures.
- Hoffmann Limb Reconstruction Frame
Inspired by simplicity, the design of this new bone transport strut minimizes subcomponent assembly and adjustment locations, reducing construct complexity for surgeons and patients.
- M.O.R.E. (Mobile Operating Room Experience) Lab
Stryker's newest educational resource, the M.O.R.E. lab is designed to educate the entire surgical care team on Stryker's products and surgical techniques, providing a hands-on experience in their local community.
