Through education, first class patient care and research opportunities, the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine serves residents across central and southern Illinois.
With three years in practice, Dr. Pylawka specializes in sports and shoulder medicine, translational medicine and general orthopedic surgery. In addition to practice, she has great interest in both clinical and research opportunities pertaining to sports medicine.
A board certified physician, Dr. Pylawka is active member of countless associations and organizations including the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery, American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine, Arthroscopy Association of North America, American Medical Association, International Cartilage Repair Society and the Ortho Trauma Association.
Dr. Pylawka graduated with honors from the University of Illinois with Bachelor's degrees in Biochemistry and Biology prior to attaining her Master's degree in Anatomy and Cell Biology at Rush Graduate School. She went on to complete her Medical degree from Rush Medical College with an Orthopedic Residency at the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine. Additionally, Dr. Pylawka completed her Michael and Myrtle Baker Orthopedic Research Fellowship at the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine and another Fellowship in Sports Medicine at Harvard Brigham and Women's Hospital.
