Team 888poker Ambassador Sam Holden and Team Europe Take the 2013 Caesars Cup Win!

On April 14^th, 2013 at Crown Casino in Melbourne, Australia the 3^rd Caesars Cup event took place. Thousands watched the action online via the Live stream available on several sites including 888poker.tv.

For the first time in its history, the event featured a semi-final match-up first. Team Europe, the inaugural winner of the event in 2009, squared off against Team Asia-Pacific. Europe won two out of three rounds to go on to face Team Americas (the defending champion) in the finale. An entertaining 3^rd round Heads Up match took place between Team Americas' WSOP ME Bracelet Winner, Greg Merson and Team Europe's 'WSOP Last Brit Standing' Sam Holden. Sam took down Merson for the Caesars Cup win with pocket 8s against Merson's Qh 4c.

Sam Holden, Team 888poker Ambassador, stated, "It was fun playing on a Team with so many great European poker players. I'm glad I could help secure the win for Europe by beating Merson in our heads up match. He is a tough opponent. It was a challenging round against the champion".
