Tecogen Sells Highly Efficient Combined Heat and Power (CHP) System to New Luxury High-Rise Apartment Building in Northern New Jersey

WALTHAM, Mass., April 1, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Tecogen® Inc. (NASDAQ: TGEN) today announced the sale of a CM-60 combined heat and power (CHP) system to a newly constructed 135 unit, 11 floor luxury apartment building in Northern New Jersey. The Tecogen CHP unit will deliver electricity and domestic hot water and provide significant energy savings through Tecogen's patented low emissions system, Ultra, nearly eliminating the production of criteria pollutants and compounds contributing to smog.

Tecogen's Ultra emissions technology is a certified "Clean Technology" by the State of NJ. This certification states that Tecogen cogeneration systems have been identified as a non-significant source of emissions according to New Jersey emissions regulations. As such, the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection has determined that Tecogen cogeneration systems do not need air pollution preconstruction permits or operating certificates.
