SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Jan. 4, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The Joint Corp. (NASDAQ: JYNT), a national operator, manager and franchisor of chiropractic clinics, today announced it will donate $50,000.00 to several U.S. chiropractic colleges to help provide financial assistance to deserving chiropractic students.

In making the announcement, The Joint's Chief Chiropractic & Compliance Officer Dr. James Edwards said, "It is our honor to give back to the chiropractic profession while contributing to its future."

The Joint Scholarship Program is open to all upperclassmen chiropractic students who need financial assistance for tuition, books or related expenses when enrolled with one of the participating colleges. Up to ten colleges will receive $5,000 to award their top three recipients with $2,500, $1,500 and $1,000 respectively. Scholarships will be awarded based on financial need, academic achievement, and a two-page essay describing their view of the future of the chiropractic profession. To apply, chiropractic students may request the application materials from their college's financial aid office during the first part of the 2016 spring semester.
