NEW YORK, May 16, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- After the important presentations of the last few years in various parts of the world (in Brussels at the European Parliament, in Paris at Unesco, in Washington, D.C. at the Italian Embassy, in Madrid, in the cities of San Paolo, Rio de Janeiro and Salvador de Bahia in Brazil) the Meeting appears at one of the world's most important institutions.
On May 19th, for the first time, the Meeting will be at the New York headquarters of the United Nations as an example of work that promotes international dialogue and friendship among people.
The event is organized in collaboration with the Permanent Mission of Italy to the UN. Guest speakers will be Ambassador Cesare Maria Ragaglini, the president of the Meeting Emilia Guarnieri, New York University law professor Joseph Weiler, a well-known Jewish jurist who has recently, at the European Court, represented the so-called third countries in the case on crucifixes and Wael Farouq, professor at Cairo University who recently took part in the Tahrir Square revolution and is founder of the Cairo Meeting, where 150 Christian and Muslim volunteers worked last October.
Representatives and observers of all State members of the UN, senior officials of the organization and personalities from the American cultural world who have attended the Meeting have been invited to the presentation.
The Meeting will bring in front of the world's representatives the real and living witness of a place in which dialogue between people is possible; in which the freedom of each man can be expressed and the identity of the other is not an obstacle to dialogue, but rather the starting point for a true friendship, certain that places of friendship among people can be the beginning of peace, coexistence, and the common good.
