SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 22, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The cost of treating heart disease in the United States will triple by 2030 to over half a trillion dollars, according to the US Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
The greatest share of those costs will be born by the nation's employers, especially the 82 percent of companies with 500 or more employees that are self-insured. To help lower costs, nutritional experts say a few relatively simple workplace changes can help establish heart-healthy habits that will improve workers' health.
