Translation Industry Veteran Barry Slaughter Olsen Joins Webflakes Advisory Board

A distinguished conference interpreter and translator with almost two decades of international-level experience, Olsen will bring his extensive knowledge and expertise to help Webflakes grow its community of translators, identify new market opportunities and create awareness and engagement within the language industry.

By curating content from top international bloggers and crowdsourcing the translation process, Webflakes is able to bring highly relevant and authentic content written in other languages into English. The translator community is an integral part of Webflakes and helps remove the language barrier by translating content from more than 80 international bloggers from Argentina, France, Italy, Japan, Peru, Spain and Switzerland, into English.

In 2007, Olsen accepted a position as assistant professor of translation and interpretation at the Monterey Institute of International Studies (MIIS) in Monterey, California.
