TrueCar.com's Top 10 Most Fuel-Efficient Hybrids and Non-Hybrid Vehicles Toyota Prius is most fuel-efficient hybrid; Hyundai Sonata is the most fuel-efficient non-hybrid vehicle

SANTA MONICA, Calif., March 14, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- February was the first time since September 2010 that cars out sold trucks as rising gas prices helped shift what consumers buy.  TrueCar.com, the authority on new car pricing, trends and forecasting, has compiled a list of the top ten most fuel-efficient hybrid and non-hybrid cars currently being sold, based on fuel economy and cost of gas, per 15,000 miles driven annually.  Of the top 10 hybrids, four have a combined 40 MPG or better while every vehicle in the top 10 non-hybrids offers a combined 30 MPG or better.  The list only looked at 2011 model vehicles that have a four-person seating capacity or higher and did not include pure electric vehicles because there is no cost associated with filling up a tank.
