Ukrainian And Syrian Communities Thank Americans For Support, Host A Blood Drive
WASHINGTON, June 6, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Ukrainian and Syrian communities will host an American Red Cross blood drive which will serve as a symbolic payback to the American people for their continued support in promoting a peaceful resolution of the civil war in Syria and Russian invasion of Ukraine. Both communities would also want to raise awareness of the humanitarian crisis unfolding in Syria and the East of Ukraine, which, among others, manifests itself in the shortage of donor blood and life saving medications.

Blood donors have been mobilized by two Ukrainian American organizations: Razom and U.S.-Ukraine Business Council, and a Syrian American organization - Syrian American Council. |

Monday, June 9, 2014; 9:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. Representatives of Ukrainian organizations will be available for interviews at the blood drive venue throughout the entire duration of the blood drive. An interview with Syrian American Council can be arranged separately. |

Razom is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt nonprofit organization supporting the people of Ukraine in their pursuit of a democratic society with dignity, justice, and human and civil rights for all. Razom (which means "together") coordinates groups of volunteers around the globe working on fund-raising, delivering supplies to Maidan, media campaign, investigation of corrupt activities, legal assistance, and work with government representatives and human rights organizations.
