Unifive and FuDan University Innovation & Venture Capital Center Jointly Launched Global Blockchain and Business Innovation Entrepreneurs Forum (2017) Under 'One Belt and One Road' Initiative

SHANGHAI, Nov. 14, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- On October 28, 2017, the Fudan University Innovation and Entrepreneurs Forum series (2017) – "Global Blockchain and Business Innovation Forum" took place at Fudan University School of Management. The Forum was jointly organized by Fudan University Innovation & Venture Capital Research Center and Unifive, hosted by Fudan University. More than 500 participants attended this forum, including Dr. Quan Liu (China's leading electronic certification expert and dean of CCID Research Institute), Yaopeng Li (Party Secretary of Fudan University) and representatives from domestic and international enterprises, industry associations, universities and news media.

The opening keynote speech on Application and Development Trend in Blockchain Technology was given by Dr. Quan Liu, entitled "Problems Faced by Blockchain Technology Industry and Possible Solutions." He first explained the main ideas of this new technology from four different aspects: the importance of decentralization, how to establish trust with electronic certification, how to maintain a distributed ledger through proof of work, and how to achieve reliability of the shared database. Dr. Liu then highlighted a few major issues with the current blockchain technology: key security, mobility, transparency vs. anonymity, and the building of a trusted multi-center infrastructure. In closing, Dr. Liu proposed ways to promote and apply the blockchain technology and to integrate blockchain with electronic certification as a solution for many of its problems.

Mr. Qingzhong Gao, chairman of the Intelligent Matrix Foundation and initiator of the Atmatrix open-source community, shared how blockchain technology can be used to build an open-source Artificial Intelligence platform and its application in the FinTech field. He pointed out that the Artificial Intelligence (AI) sharing platform they created is an open source software community that can interact with enterprise-grade systems in many different industries through flexible integration. Eventually, the integrated systems will turn into a multi-center, distributed AI network. With Application Programming Interfaces (API)s incorporated from various systems, the shared platform will become a world-class AI portal. Each participating company can share their own resources and if desired, use those shared from others. Once collaboration gets started, development will be swift.

Ryan Xu, founder and chairman of Australia's CollinStar Capital and a well-known investor in global blockchain technology start-ups, illustrated the similarities between blockchain technology start-ups and other technology companies in a presentation titled "Investing in Blockchain, What Exactly Is It?".  He explained that technology investment is, in fact, an investment in talents and ideas. Outstanding talents and cutting-edge ideas with core technologies are the real values of the blockchain technology. When future applications of blockchain technology broadening their utility in businesses, the value will rise accordingly. He firmly believes that the whole blockchain industry in China will be at the forefront of the world.

Ms. Jingnan Li (Chairwoman of the board of Unifive and Vice President of the council of China Blockchain Ecosystem Alliance) pointed out that in the promotion and development of any advanced technology, media will play a starting role. In the second part of the forum themed "Innovation and Transformation of Enterprise Business Models," Professor Ning-Zhong Ren gave a speech titled "Innovative Application of Blockchain-Driven Business Models," and introduced a few application case studies of blockchain technology in banking, insurance, gig-economy, and supply chain management. Real-world cases were given including Airbnb, a Smart Grid operator in the U.S., and AXA insurance.

Other distinguished guests attending the forum included Dr. Taien Lin (Vice President of Shunfeng Group Innovation Center), Ms. Peixuan Zhang (Vice President and Secretary of the Board of Baowu Group, Chairwoman of Ouye Logistics), and Mr. Bing Qian (Partner of Deloitte Consulting Co.); the latter also delivered terrific speeches, elaborating on the huge impact of blockchain technology on industrial prospects and on predictions of the future development of blockchain technology application scenarios.

Finally, seven guests, including President Quan Liu, Professor Ning-Zhong Ren, Jinnan Li, Feng Xiang, Peixuan Zhang, Ryan Xu and Tian Meng, held an intense discussion on how to reconstruct, develop and break through the innovation of blockchain technology and business models.
