United Planet (http://www.unitedplanet.com), one of the leading developers of enterprise portal software in Europe, is pleased to announce that it has been included in the "Magic Quadrant for Horizontal Portals 2012" of the world's leading IT research and advisory company Gartner.

The "Magic Quadrant 2012" lists 16 international portal software providers and indicates the current trends and developments on the portal market. Represented in the renowned market overview of international portal providers are two German companies, United Planet and SAP, global players like Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, Adobe and Red Hat as well as the Open Source software Drupal.

"I am very happy to be included in the Magic Quadrant! We believe anyone familiar with Gartner's strict criteria for inclusion knows that this evaluation represents quality recognition", says Axel Wessendorf, Lexware founder and CEO of United Planet.

The intranet and portal software Intrexx of United Planet enables companies to create enterprise portals, intranets and web applications cost effectively, without the need for programming. Intrexx is platform independent and runs on Windows as well as on Mac OS X and Linux. "We believe our listing in the Magic Quadrant shows that we are on the right track with Intrexx, offering a smart software which enables the fast, simple and cost-effective establishment of intranet and enterprise portals. This is in direct contrast to many other portal solutions which are frequently too inflexible or too complex for users", says Wessendorf.

With over 4,500 installations and more than 500,000 users of the Intrexx portal software, United Planet is one of the market leaders among medium-sized companies and public administration. Customers include companies like Bridgestone Germany, Principle Group and Weber-Stephen.
