Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Sony Computer Entertainment America LLC Announce Mortal Kombat Will Include Kratos as a Playable Character Exclusively on PlayStation® 3

BURBANK, Calif., Dec. 11, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Sony Computer Entertainment America LLC (SCEA) today announce that Mortal Kombat, the award-winning fighting game created by NetherRealm Studios, will add Kratos -- from the multi-million unit-selling God of War® franchise -- as a new warrior to their line-up exclusively for the PlayStation®3 (PS3™) computer entertainment system.  Kratos will have his own customized move set, fatality, and fighting arena available when Mortal Kombat hits stores worldwide in April 2011.

Through the exclusive partnership between Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Sony Computer Entertainment America LLC (SCEA), Kratos will face off against the most renowned Mortal Kombat fighters, including Scorpion and Sub Zero, and the game will be available in Stereoscopic 3-D on the PS3.

The newest chapter of Mortal Kombat, releasing in April 2011 for the PS3 and Xbox 360, marks a triumphant return to the series' mature presentation and a reinvention of its classic 2-D fighting mechanic.

Mortal Kombat will also introduce a number of new game-play features including tag team, a deeper story mode, and nostalgic arcade battle online and offline. Players will be able to choose from an extensive line-up of the game's iconic warriors and challenge their friends in traditional 1 vs. 1 matches as well as several new game modes.
